Guide to authors

AIUB Journal of Science and Engineering (AJSE) is a joint publication of the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). This journal aims at publishing papers based on original, empirical and innovative research works in different areas of Science and Engineering. It is devoted to development and dissemination of knowledge in these fields for the benefit of academicians as well as practicing scientists, engineers and computer experts. Within the boundary of the above mentioned aims and scope, the journal covers a wide area of interest in the field of Science and Engineering. AJSE wishes to attract authors from all over the world, although papers from local and regional authors are highly encouraged.

Major Topics

Tables and figures should be placed on separate sheets with an indication for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Analog and Digital Electronics, VLSI and ULSI, Nano Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, Microwave Engineering, Microprocessor, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking, Control Systems Engineering, Semiconductor and Optical Devices, Management Information Systems, Technology Marketing and Enterprising.

Manuscript Requirement

  1. Contributions can be up to a maximum of 5000 words and a short abstract of about 150 words should be provided. A manuscript should have an abstract, an introduction, a main body of the text with necessary subsections and headings, results, conclusions, and references.
  2. The title of the paper should be typed using 20-pt bold Times New Roman font in title-case format. Names and affiliations of the authors should be typed after the title of the paper on top using 12-pt Times New Roman font.
  3. Abstract should be typed using bold faced single-spaced, 9-pt Times New Roman font throughout the first column of the two column format as mentioned in item 6 below. The word ‘Abstract’ should be typed using font size 11, bold and italic.
  4. Index or Keyboard should be typed using font size 9. The word ‘Keyword/ Index’ should be typed using font size 9, bold and italic.
  5. Complete mailing address indicating designation, e-mail, telephone of the author(s) should appear at the lower left side of the 1st page in the 1st column. These should be typed using 8-pt Times New Roman font.
  6. At least two high quality hard copies of the manuscript, preferably laser-printed, should be submitted for consideration of the editorial board. Manuscripts submitted for consideration must be typed on one side of the paper only in A4 sized standard white paper. The manuscripts should be typed, single-spaced, 10-pt font throughout (except the abstract) using Times New Roman font and double column format throughout the paper with the margin as mentioned in item 9. In addition to this soft copy in MSWord must be submitted in diskette/ CD.
  7. The section and subsection headings should be typed using bold 12-pt Times New Roman font.
  8. The figures along with figure captions and figure numbers should be fitted in position in this format. Page numbers must be provided at the bottom center. After the recommended necessary modifications are made, the final submission should be presented in double column camera-ready form with figures fitted inside.
  9. In the page set up, the left margin should be 2 cm, right margin should be 2.5 cm, gutter should be 0.5 cm the top and bottom margins should be 2.2 cm, spacing between the two columns should be 0.5 cm. Equal column width must be used.
  10. For submissions as attachment files with e-mails only MS Word files are acceptable.
  11. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and must contain informative captions. Figure numbers should be written as Fig. 1, Fig. 5.
  12. The Journal will be published in black and white. As a result manuscripts should contain these items in black and white. Figures should be produced using thick lines and good contrast.
  13. The submitted manuscript as well as the final submission should be numbered consecutively.
  14. References should be typed in the following style using 9-pt Times New Roman font: [2] A.L. Schawlow and C.H. Townes, Infrared and Optical Masers , Phys. Rev., Vol. 112, 1958, pp. 1940-1949.   15. Short biographies of the authors along with ID size photographs should be presented after the References section using the same two column format mentioned in item 6 above but using 9-pt Times New Roman font.
  16. A soft copy of the final manuscript after review and correction(s) must be submitted using a floppy diskette. A print out of the final manuscript must also be submitted at the same time.

      Authors can also download the MS Word template, and use it to prepare the camera ready manuscript for AJSE.
